Methods of Use

Pure essential oils are amazingly versatile and may be used in a variety of ways around the home and workplace to promote natural health and wellbeing. The most common methods of use are described below.

LeReve Aromatherapy | How to use essential oils | Vaprorise

Diffusion

Diffusion is one of the most well-known forms of enjoying aromatherapy. Energise your surrounds with refreshing oils, create a relaxing haven with a calming recipe, or inspire intimacy with a sensual blend.

Fill a LeRêve Ultrasonic Diffuser with water and then add 6 drops of your chosen Essential Oils. Ultrasonic technology diffuses the oil molecules in their purest form for your enjoyment.

Note: A few rare and expensive Pure Essential Oils supplied by LeRêve diluted in pure jojoba oil to ensure affordability are not recommended for use in diffusion.

Massage

Aromatherapy massage combines the therapeutic sense of smell with the healing powers of touch and can be a very effective way of relieving a wide range of ailments and conditions such as muscular aches, arthritis, stress and anxiety, sleeplessness, headaches, colds and flu and fevers. The Essential Oils are absorbed through the skin via hair follicles and are diffused into the blood and lymph.

The term ‘massage’ is used in a general sense to mean applying Essential Oils topically (on the skin) – it does not necessarily refer to the practice of full body massage. To target internal conditions, massage oils on the temples, neck, under the nose, behind the ears, the wrists and back of hands, and on the soles of the feet.

To create your own massage oil, blend 8-10 drops of a selected combination of LeRêve Pure Essential Oils with 20mL of Luxury Carrier Blend.

Note: Lavender and Tea Tree Pure Essential Oils may be used neat (directly) on the skin to treat things like cuts and abrasions, insect bites and fungal infections.

Bath

An aromatic bath is a therapeutic, sensual indulgence that can revive you in the morning, prepare you for a peaceful sleep at night, or assist in the management of body pains such as arthritis, cramps and backache. Oils dispersed through the bath water enter the body through inhalation and skin absorption, and simultaneously tone the skin.

Combine 10 drops of your chosen LeRêve Pure Essential Oils with 20mL of Luxury Carrier Blend and add to the filled bath as you step in. Immerse your body, close your eyes and breathe deeply.

Note: You may add Pure Essential Oils into the bath without carrier oil but the drops will float on the surface and may irritate the skin.

Foot Bath

When you want a treat for tired, aching feet, prepare a little foot bath. Use an electric foot spa with bubbles or a bucket with marbles to massage the soles of feet.

Combine 3 drops of your chosen LeRêve Pure Essential Oils with 5mL of Luxury Carrier Blend and add to a warm foot bath.

Shower

Turn your ordinary shower routine into a vitalising aromatic treatment!

Place a couple of drops of LeRêve Pure Essential Oil on the floor in the corner of the shower where the hot water will reach it, creating aromatic steam. Then add a couple more drops to a sponge or washcloth and use over the body (avoid sensitive areas especially the eyes).

Inhalation

Direct steam inhalation may be very effective for relieving respiratory complaints, symptoms of colds and flu or congestion.

Fill a large bowl with hot water, add 3 drops of Pure Essential Oils, place a towel over your head and breathe deeply for five to ten minutes. The essential oil molecules are absorbed via the respiratory system into the body and the healing begins.

Note: For quick and easy inhalation (though not as effective), simply breathe deeply direct from a bottle of LeRêve Pure Essential Oil or place a few drops on a handkerchief to carry around with you.

Compresses

Aromatherapy compresses are an effective way of managing certain ailments and conditions such as sprains, cramps, headaches, joint pain and muscular aches.

Add 8-10 drops of Pure Essential Oils to a bowl of warm water, and swish a cloth through the water. Wring it out and apply to the area needing treatment. When the cloth loses its warmth, dip it in the water and repeat the process.

Spritzer

You can make your own natural body spritzer with cleansing, toning oils for the skin; or you can mix your own cleaning/freshening spritzer to use as a room or linen deodoriser. You can even concoct your own pet spray.

Add 8-10 drops of Pure Essential Oils to 20mL of Luxury Carrier Blend and pour into a spray bottle filled with distilled water. Give it a really good shake before spraying.
